Project 2-3
Bathroom

The aging bathroom had outdated telework, yellowed fixtures, and compromised subfloor caused by years of improper vinyl overlays. Moisture had seeped through the stick-on vinyl flooring into the wooden subfloor, leading to visible decay and audible creaking near the toilet. The space felt grimy and unstable. The goals was to fully stabilize the subfloor, modernize all finished, and create a bright, clean, and functional space.

-Flooring Demolition & Subfloor Repair
Remove layered vinyl flooring and exposed severely damaged subfloor.
Coordinated with contractor to repair soft areas and replaced rotted wood.
Installed cement board underlayment for moisture resistance and stability.

-Tile Installation
Coordinated with tile setter to lay large-format gray porcelain tiles for a durable and elegant finish.
Sealed all seams and added base tile trim for clean edge.

-Bathtub & Wall Reglazing
Prepped existing tub and plastic wall panels to be reglazed for a uniform white finish.
Patched gaps and ensured a waterproof barrier around the wet zone.

--Fixture & Cabinetry Replacement
Replaced old wall mounted sink with a modern IKEA vanity with storage.
Installed a new mirror cabinet and black wall shelving for added functionality.
-Lighting & Final Touches
Updated wall lighting above the vanity.
Installed a new clear shower curtain for minimal visual obstruction.
Repainted walls to enhance light diffusion and cleanliness.

Before & After Impact

The bathroom underwent a major transformation, both structurally and visually. Where the floor once creaked and sagged, now feels solid and secure. Dated tiles and worn finished were replaced with clean surfaces. The space is now bright, stable and user-friendly-far more appealing and comfortable for tenants.
